Description: This tour combines the beauty of California’s popular coastline with the less known, but equally beautiful agricultural hillsides, making you wonder whether you have been transported to the Mediterranean. Your tour begins in the lobby of Atlantic Aviation at the Carlsbad Airport. Departing to the north, you will fly over Carlsbad, toward Oceanside. Crossing over the Oceanside Pier, the mountains of Pendleton unveil themselves, promising a new perspective of North San Diego County. Following the San Luis Del Rey Riverbed inland, the flat coastline crumples into agricultural hillsides reminiscent of the Mediterranean. Avocado and citrus trees, and vineyards compete with rocky outcroppings amidst the rolling hills. Turning south, you will fly along the Avocado Highway past the Pala Indian Reservation, the Lawrence Welk Village, and the San Pasqual River Valley. Turning past Lake Hodges, you will catch a birds eye view of the unique mansions of Rancho Santa Fe before returning to the coastline to take in the unparalleled beauty of the ocean as you fly past Del Mar and Encinitas, back to Carlsbad.
